He just IS!

We cannot really give anything to God. There is nothing that He needs from us. He’s God. He just IS. Nothing that we give Him can make Him anything else. He doesn’t really stand to gain anything from our worship, our obedience or our love. None of it makes Him more or less of who He is. He just IS.

God is who He is – always has been, always will be, irrespective of everything else! Take a minute to wrap your mind around that. There’s this beautiful song that I love called “You are God alone” by Phillips, Craig & Dean, which goes like this.

"You are not a God, created by human hands You are not a God, dependent on any mortal man You are not a God, in need of anything we can give By Your plan, that's just the way it is You are God alone from before time began You were on Your throne You are God alone and right now In the good times and bad You are on Your throne And you are God alone You're the only God whose power none can contend You're the only God whose name and praise will never end You're the only God who's worthy of everything we can give You are God and that's just the way it is"

And from that place of fullness, majesty, might and holiness, He stoops down to demonstrate His love. That He would even regard or consider us is in itself beyond our understanding, furthermore, He loves us! He loves each and every single one of us and cares about our specific needs, wants, desires and thoughts. And He responds to each of us and reaches us at the specific point of our need.

What an wonderfully amazing God we have! All we can do in response is drop down to our knees and worship Him in awe and reverence.
